In order to make the right hire you need to know what skills you currently have in-house and what skills you will need in the future.

Create a checklist of skills you have and don’t have.

  • What skills do my current employees’ possess?
  • What are their various levels of skill?
  • What skill sets will be needed to meet the needs of critical projects?
  • Where does our inventory of critical skills fall short, and by how much?

Many immigrants have the expertise you are looking for but not the accreditation. Bringing them on in a lesser capacity initially lets you assess their skills more thoroughly and opens up available resources to get them “Red Seal” certified.
