Often immigrant workers, because of deficient language skills and unrecognized credentials cannot do jobs they were qualified for in their home countries. This is particularly true in union environments.
One strategy is to get them working for you in a lesser position where there skills can be more fully assessed, and even put to action. Once they are employed many language and skills training programs become available that will support their receiving a Red Seal certification.
It benefits both you and the worker to get them certified and into in-demand positions as quickly as possible.
